Cast iron teapots were originally invented in ancient China and later perfected by the Japanese, who turned them into both functional and decorative objects. 
A specific treatment removes impurities from the cast iron, while an internal enamelling protects the teapot, ensuring a long service life.
This blue-coloured cast iron teapot has a capacity of 0.9 L and is equipped with an internal stainless steel filter, ideal for brewing tea. For a perfect infusion, pour the water at the right temperature for the chosen type of tea, place the leaves in the filter and respect the infusion time.
If the teapot is used to boil water, it is recommended to remove the filter while boiling and to use a flame spreader to protect the cast iron from direct flame.
To ensure a long life for the teapot, it is recommended to carry out a preparation procedure before first use: pour boiling water into the teapot, leave it for a few minutes and then remove it. 
Repeat the operation 3-4 times, then wipe dry with a cloth. 
Avoid washing the teapot with detergents and dry it immediately after washing.
Also, it is important to avoid contact with oil or salt, as they may damage the enamel inside.

To make the best use of cast-iron teapots and make them last over time, it is advisable to precede the first use with this procedure: pour plenty of boiling water into the teapot, leave it there for a few minutes then throw it away. Repeat this 3-4 times, then dry the teapot with a cloth. Afterwards, it will be sufficient to remember never to wash it with detergent and to dry it immediately with a cloth after washing.

You should also avoid putting the cast iron teapot in contact with oil or salt because it may ruin the inner enamel.
